JIAFU WANG

Dr. Jiafu Wang received his PhD in Microbiology from Wuhan University in 1999, where he began his academic career as a lecturer in the Institute of Life Sciences. In 2000, he joined the neuroscience research group at Imperial College London as a postdoctoral researcher. Three years later, he joined the newly established International Centre for Neurotherapeutics within the Faculty of Science and Health at Dublin City University. Dr. Wang is a Molecular Biologist and Protein Engineer, co-inventor of several international patents, and recipient of multiple grants from Research Ireland. His current research focuses on developing innovative biotherapeutics for the treatment of chronic pain, itch, and certain cancers, with a particular emphasis on harnessing the therapeutic potential of botulinum neurotoxin domains.
