Professor Fayyaz Ahmed is currently the treasurer and executive for the International Headache Society.  He graduated from Dow Medical College Karachi, Pakistan in 1986 and moved to the UK after his residency.  He received his clinical training in St James's Hospital, Leeds and Imperial College, London, research training at the Princess Margaret Migraine Clinic at Charing Cross Hospital, London.  He has been a consultant neurologist in Hull University Teaching Hospitals since 1996 and has served as Chair of the British Association for the Study of Headache, Anglo-Dutch Migraine Association, Headache UK and have been on the board of the Migraine Trust International Symposium.  He also served in NICE for the revised CG150 headache guidelines and the technology appraisal group for Botox in Migraine.  He is a co-author of the current BASH headache national management system.  Over the years he has been involved in hospital management and gained his MBA.  He also holds a PGCME and involved in teaching and education world-wide for 20 years and has been organising national headache meeting in Hull every other year since 2005.  He has 80 original and review publications in peer reviewed journals.
