Dr. Nouchine Hadjikhani, Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and researcher at the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, is a neuroscientist renowned for her pioneering contributions to the understanding of migraine pathophysiology.

Her work has advanced understanding of cortical spreading depression (CSD), the neural phenomenon linked to migraine aura, using advanced imaging techniques.

She has also explored sensory processing differences in migraine patients, uncovering hyperexcitability in the visual cortex and heightened sensitivity to stimuli.

More recently, her research has highlighted the role of neuroinflammation in migraines, offering insights into potential new treatment approaches.
